Giada Hope Daotre, a young princess, heir to the throne of the kingdom of Deprimere, has found a passion that surprises her mother: she wants to learn the art of the sword. She leaves on her journey to the guard academy of Deprimere, and undergoes many unexpected life changes.

However, without a princess, and while the queen is only so far from her departure, Deprimere is left in danger. With all of the neighboring kingdoms against Deprimere, it is almost impossible for the kingdom to stand on its own.

It's up to Giada to save her kingdom from falling into the wrong hands. A pair of cat ears and tail won't stop her from doing so.

At least, she hopes so.

Thousands of centuries ago humans, vampires, and werewolves lived together in harmony, considering one equal to the other. Ruled by a council of three kings, with one from each fullblood race, peace endured for quite some time. All of it was destroyed when many years later the new vampire and werewolf kings both wanted to rule over the kingdom alone. A massive war broke out between the vampires and the werewolves and millions of lives were lost. In a last attempt to stop the war one hundred years later, the land was divided into three kingdoms, the vampires, humans and werewolves. The borders were shut, crossbreeding was forbidden since it created halfbloods and demons and each kingdom was led by the king of their respective race. In secret, however, it was decided that the human king would watch over them all to prevent another war from ever happening again. Since the human kingdom laid inbetween the other two, the humans invented technology to keep all the races at bay and trained the warriors of their army as skilled hunters. As time and generations went by, the kingdoms became more isolated and the common humans forgot that supernatural beings even existed. However, the war had never truly been resolved so the hatred that the vampires and werewolves had for each other endured. When a mysterious murder occurs, chaos breaks out within the kingdoms. A throne must be taken, blood must be shed, a choice must be made and all must be answered by a girl with purple eyes.
