Melanie has had a rough life. With her parents gone, she wanders the land of Berk and its outskirts as a loner. Barely talking and keeping to herself. One night has her thrown into Hiccups life and into life or death situations with a certain dragon.  
Will Hiccup see how broken Melanie truly is? Can he help her before it's too late? Or will one mistake have her thrown back into her old life and old memories she wished stayed buried?

This island is were the baby grew and found herself with mixed feelings for the dragon beast and for a certain boy, rather the Chiefs son. Only things don't turn out the way she thought after that one night.

But when he couldn't kill the dragon he took the other option... and trained it. him and toothless were the best of friends but one day when he is chosen to kill the monstrous night mare in dragon training , he can't handle it so he runs away on the back of toothless, but only for the two to be snatched up by dragons. but 5 years later when hiccup returns to Berk, he is not the hiccup they all once knew.
