If there's one thing that Seraphina White understands, it's people. Maybe not on a personal level, but the psychological. She's a reader, of body language, of speech, and of faces. She never really doubted her hermit-like ways, finding it better to be safe than sorry. However, when approached by a man with answers about her deceased mother, will she come out of her shell? Or will she delve deeper into it?

10 parts Ongoing

This book asks the question: What is love? Most importantly: Will you still choose to love even when it becomes something you must endure and suffer for? Seraphina is a distrustful and cunning noble lady with a hidden past. Her morally gray actions bring havoc not only in the court but to the kingdom. Her motives are a mystery even to herself. Captain Renard, a righteous general sworn to the crown, was entrusted with the role of keeping this villainess alive. However, as he gets to know more about Seraphina, his newfound insight clashes with everything he knows. As these two seemingly opposite characters collide, each fateful encounter is a fatal challenge to everything they spent their whole lives building. In a kingdom on the brink of revolution, alliances are as fragile as shifting sands, these characters must navigate their inner conflict while surviving the outer chaos in the kingdom. (**If you like an intellectual slow-burn romance, with unreliable narratives allowing you to piece the information together, this is FOR YOU!)
