Coco, is a normal Norwegian girl. Or thats what it seems like to others. Every night she does something thats called Lucid Dreaming. In her dream she meets two of her real life friends, Louise, who she calls Bebe who is from the Netherlands, and Becca from South Africa. As well as some "made up" friends that soon become so real to the girls that they are ovsessed with making the girls remember them. But one day Coco is in an accident, and she meeds to get surgery done. Will she ever wake up again? And if she does. Will she remember her best, non-real friends?

Sheut, the title of this book, is egyptian and is one of the five parts of your soul. Sheut represents your shadow, and your shadow has a big part in your life. If it gets in the wrong hands, you can simply be killed, with just a few words. The "mushroom" like figure in the title is the hieroglyf for Sheut.

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick.
