Family Comes First
Being alone? Check. Being afraid? Check. Being abused? Check times 3. Honestly, my life wasn't this bad before, not until I ended in foster care... SIKE! My life was always bad. From the moment I was born, I lived with an abusive father who blamed me for my mother's death, and even I couldn't disagree with him. Here are a few questions I am constantly asked: 'Do I do well in school?' No, are you kidding me? The only subject I'm good at is Visual Arts. 'Do I have a kind and caring family?' No, I don't think I do. 'Do I have anyone who cares about me?' No, I'm a loner and socially awkward. 'Do I have privileges?' No, if you haven't understood the message yet, I live in an abusive household. Now, you might ask if there are any questions the answer is yes. I'll give you some. 'Do I want to die?' Yes, I sometimes do. 'Do I feel alone in this world?' Yes, always. 'Do I get a beating every day?' Yes. *** This is Amara Williams, a 13 year-old with average grades and no friends. What happens when her only guardian, her dad, is dead? What happens when she finds out that she has five older brothers who are not only strict and demanding, but also protective assholes? More importantly, what happens when she finds out that she was taught lies from the moment she was born? Follow Amara as she digs deeper into her family history, uncovering the secrets and discovering the lies. ___ ⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ There will be mentions of abuse, r@pe, self harm, death, and many other dark themes. I have given a warning now, and I will give a TW in each chapter when reading for safety reasons. However, I want all of my readers to know what to expect so that they can decided for themselves if they want to read. Playing with Fire
[Highest Rank: #328] Anna's a normal girl. Well, at least she wishes she was. She watched her parents die in front of her when she was eight years old. Ten years later, she's lived her life in ignorance, attempting to regain the childhood innocence that was once lost. She only wishes to live normally ... like any other teen girl. Of course, it's hard when people keep looking at her with those pitying eyes. The only thing she's retained from her trauma is a mild fear of congested social occasions and occasional nightmares. Otherwise, she's just your typical, straight-A, quirky girl who lives with her neighbors and crushes on her adoptive brother. Okay, maybe she ISN'T that normal. But one thing's for sure. Her life is flipped inside-out once she runs into the school's notorious troublemaker, who has just as much of a dark past as she does. She just wants to be friends. He just wants to avoid her. [Mild use of foul language. You have been warned.] [Other stories: Give Her a Life] Cover and multimedia made through Canva. Picture does not belong to me. (If you're curious, the girl on the cover is Black Pink's Jisoo. And ohmigod Black Pink's comeback song is titled "Playing with Fire." IT'S FATE!)Concluida

Not even a glance
"I walk down the school hallway, "don't make eye contact" I keep repeating in my head. The sweet smell of cologne and perfume fills the halls. I keep walking trying not to get noticed. I see the doors of the school getting closer and closer. I speed up trying to make it in time. I reach out to grab the door handle, and right as I'm about to take my step to freedom, I hear my name being called. And I know exactly who it is. The person who makes my life miserable. The person that makes me want to die more and more each day. The one person who knows my only weaknesses. The school bully." Jessica is a 15 year old at Marino High school. She's a straight A student and she lives a normal life. Or at least she did. It all started when she was 7th grade. Her mom became MIA (missing in action). Her dad became an angry man. He thought the whole reason why Jessica's mom left, was because of Jessica. He beats her every day. And to top it all off, she gets bullied at school. Will her life ever become normal again? Or will it just keep falling apart.Concluida
The Fallen Queen (Winner of the Write Way Award 2013) #Wattys2015 #MyWattysChoice #Featured
Marie wanted to be as good as her mother wanted. Since her older brother was diagnosed with autism, she is considered the family's "normal" child. She thus feels she must be perfect in every way, which soon turns out to be a haunting task. Desperate for love and to make sense of her mother's contradictory behaviors and spiritual changes (from her mother's infidelities and alcoholism to a strict religious cult, and back again), Marie starts a friendship with a make belief friend, Ana. Ana is beautiful, loving, all-knowing and lives in an older version of Marie's house. Ana is the best friend one could hope for...that is until she encourages you to pursue a life threatening path. A book loosely based on my life: my relationship with my mother, my father, my autistic brother and my sister; my life in a cult; and my battle with anorexia. Nevertheless, this book is a work of fiction (imaginary friend, haunted house, mystical creatures, paranormal, etc).Concluida
