World War III.

The Earth has been torn apart by military forces bashing against one another, all for the simple liquid that made up most of the Earth.

Water.

The war has ended in tragedy. A virus had been released that affected only women, making it nearly impossible for any more female children to be born. With the female population plummeting, the remainders of humanity can only struggle onwards. Governments fall, entire civilizations crumbling into nothing but broken cities until only a select few remain. Special towns, known as 'Bioglobes' are created in an attempt to save the human race.

But not everyone could make it inside before the doors shut forever. Those stranglers are known as 'Cats', named for the way they roam about and interact with one another. However, the life of a Cat is not filled with horror, due to the one thing that has always plagued the world throughout history.
