John and Y/N have slowly moved on. It's taken two years, but they have. John is about to propose to his girlfriend Mary, and Y/N has moved and got a new job.
They seem to just be getting used to life without the consulting detective, but when he turns up in the restaurant John is proposing to Mary at, and then sees Y/N with a young man, he can't help but realise he's made a mistake by barging back into their life.
