Willow Locke, a teenage immigrant living in turn-of-the century Manhattan, must find the strength within her to protect her family from an insidious corporate plot to destroy the unions. Her father and sister are primary targets, marked for death. By chance she falls in with reclusive fallen inventor, Nikola Tesla, who begins to build the weapons she needs to single handedly combat the deadly Pinkertons, a private militia hired by the corporation. Her partner in the investigation is an English schoolboy and a brilliant intellectual, James Whitcomb. Just as their partnership as detectives begins to blossom into love, or infatuation, James encounters a deeper evil within the corporation, an undying thing called the Amilech. The revelation comes too late to save him from infection. Can Willow save the boy she loves and protect her family? No one is safe. Danger is everywhere in this high-tech supernatural thriller.
