"Salim Malik, I hate you. For everything you've done to me, everything you've done to my life!" The girl shouted in their native language. The extra noise in the construction site no longer being able to drown out the pain and anger in her shaking voice. She didn't try to hide the tears that streamed down her brown cheeks. She took a few steps forward to look up into his brown eyes, the eyes of a boy she once knew; now a man.
The younger man that stood beside the woman reached out to grab hold of her hand left hand. Giving her hand a gentle tug, moving her away from his brother and to his side. He felt that if he didn't step in now than someone would get hurt, whether it was emotionally or physically. "You don't hate me. Stop telling yourself that," A calm yet stern tone escaped the taller man's lips along with a ghost of a frown.
"You could never hate me. Even after everything I've done, you can't hate me. Just as I could never hate you. You could take away my money, take away my livelihood, or even take away my life and I still would never find myself hating you, my love. My whole life I've never believed in clichés like destiny or fate but after all these years...right now here you are standing in front of me. I now realize that I'm standing face-to-face with my destiny. You are my destiny, Anika Patel."
If Anika Patel's life could be summed up in one word, that word would be 'uncertain'. Her life has been filled with only uncertainties and losses, ever since she was a child. She's had no control over her own life since her home was burnt to the ground, Anika had never felt truly happy or safe since then. No one would blame her if she gave up hope, thankfully she never did.
