Marie and Kennedy Winters could not be more different from each other. Marie was the good child, never going against their parents wishes, always followed the rules, and most importantly never dated. Kennedy was the exact opposite. Since the day she could walk she had been chasing boys around. She would rather question authority than blindly follow directions simply because they were adults. And rules? Well those weren't meant to be broken. The best part of it all though? They are best friends. The yin to each others yang. But what happens when a ghost from Kennedy's past plays an unexpected part in Marie's present? Kennedy has always been fiercely loyal to those she has cared about. Always put others before herself and saw the good in everybody. Can Kennedy continue to do just that when the boy she has loved more than anything starts dating her sister on accident? Or will she give in to temptation? Sometimes being polar opposites is the problem.

Cole is still in love with Kennedy. She is vastly different from any other girl he had been with before. She's got such a fiery heart and quick temper but yet was so passionate and caring. He got the best of both worlds with her. Until life got in the way. He knew it was wrong to just leave without explaining anything but he wouldn't have been able to say goodbye. 3 years down the road and his heart still ached for her. But he knew her. She moves on fast. So he needed to. That's when he meets Marie in one of the more advanced math classes. Completely different from his Kennedy. Just the thing he needs. But he is in for a surprise when he learns who Marie is or more like, who she is related to.
