When the police turn up in the night to question Mr Wells about his ex girlfriend,  the true horror of what really happened to her is about to unfold...

This is a short story entry for a Valentine themed writing contest; my first horror piece I've written for a very long time so any comments or improvements are much appreciated!

Approx. 1500 words.

When her brother walks in she's struck with confusion, anger, and joy. He went missing 7 years ago, leaving no trace. Livia is a 23 year old girl with a complicated and scary life but all of it gets even more complicated when her brother explains why he went missing and why he can never come back. ⚠️this story contains sensitive topics such as abuse, fear, terrible men, kidnapping, and child labor.
