Marinette is the goddess of spring and creation, sheltered in a land of eternal sunshine and flowers by her mother the goddess of harvest who adores her.  Though she loves her mother, she often dreams of being held in the arms of a man who will love and cherish her always. But her mother forbids her from having any contact with men.

Adrien is the god of death and destruction, his kingdom in the underworld  is rich and powerful yet dark and gloomy.  He is a young, handsome, but lonely man who longs for a wife who will truly love him not just some nymphs or goddesses who will fawn over him just because of his looks and wealth.

One day Adrien spots Marinette and he instantly falls in love with the beautiful and innocent maiden. But knowing that her mother will never let her marry, Adrien has no choice but to force Marinette to come live with him.
