A Link To The Past [Nikke x Legendary Commander] by MrMiller1515
21 parts Ongoing Mature
Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.

SO...I WOKE UP IN ANCIENT ROME...and stopped the Dark Ages!

6 parts Complete

Retired law enforcement agent awakens in Ancient Rome during the reign of Marcus Aurelius and embarks on a quest to stop the Empire from collapse, and finds love and fulfillment. This was first written as a quasi-treatment for potential cinematic production. So, yes, there is little conflict, as in most such historical "what-if" works (Clemens's "Connecticut Yankee..."). But there are at least two such readily available: 1. The Senate might/would resist the suggested changes, especially the most powerful/richest. 2. Commodus might/would resist being sent away to primitive America as ambassador ( addressed in the sequel in my posted works here.) Maybe Dwayne Johnson could be enticed. LOL At least it would NOT be based on some comic book! And the five causes for the Empire's collapse are legitimate historically. (ref. eg. Gibbon) Might learn something about our current predicament...or would we?
