In the kingdom of Luthrial, seventeen year old Nyria is a member of the Shadows, a group of assassins trained to never be seen or caught. A Shadow must complete one hundred kills before they are release from their service. Once she is released, Nyra plans to leave her home city, Valetayes, with her younger brother to escape her past and abusive father forever.
When told the girl her best friend is in love with will be her final victim, she makes a mistake that costs her everything. Finding herself being captured by the Veiled, the kingdom's soldiers, Nyra is forced into new world, facing her biggest struggles yet.
