King Patrick and Queen Olivia Caldwell left Ireland on a planned visit to the United States of America. Their children Princesses Margaret, Siobhan and Prince Marcus are back at Court. When Margaret does not receive word from their parents, she leaves the country in search of them.

While on her journey, Princess Margaret remains in contact with her siblings, giving them updates on her efforts to find their parents. During her stop in Washington, she decides to walk into a coffee shop in Seattle. As she makes her way through the door she trips over the threshold. Before she can regain her balance she is caught in a strong hold by a local named, James Cartwright.

Awestruck, James sets Margaret on her feet still holding her in his arm. Not phased by her fall, Margaret briefly introduces herself.

After getting to know James and enjoying his company, Margaret mentions to him her reasons for visiting. Having similar past experiences James is willing to help Margaret. Making their way toward new leads Margaret and James share adventures, milestones and a bond that can never be broken. As the year comes to an end the pair learn of details that connect their pasts.
