In the country of Fiore, there has been a long-standing tradition. Each district would send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 once a year to fight to the death in an arena of the Capitol Magnolia's creation. 24 go in, only one leaves.

The Ultimate Games - Book One
It has been a century since the rebellion, and the Capitol still wants revenge... As it is the Fourth Quarter Quell, there will be four games held this year. One will be held with twenty-four children reaped from Districts One to Four. The second will have twenty-four children reaped from Districts Five to Eight. The third will have twenty-four children reaped only from Districts Nine to Twelve. There will be six tributes reaped from each of the twelve Districts, and eight people will win each of the three Games giving us twenty-four finalists to take part in the Ultimate Games where only one will prevail victorious. After the rebellion of Panem lead by Katniss Everdeen, President Paylor declares one Hunger Games. But a different way. Six boy and six girls will be selected from the Capitol and do the Hunger Games in the 74th Hunger Games arena. The only big difference: no one dies. Each child, from 12-18 years old, will play until injured, not killed. Aria Bix, a young, 14-year-old daughter of an ex-Gamemaker, is chosen. Previous victors hold her fate as the Gamemakers. 5 days of training is all she gets for her life-changing event.
