"You are a monster, a pathetic monster but still a monster." He states calmly as he kicks at my feet. I look up at him "Why? Why are you like this. " "Runt, I am a king of beast. King of dragons and you wonder why I am cold? My very power is ice." He grabs hold of my shoulders and lifts me up as his face nears mine. "And I am going to enjoy freezing your heart."Complete

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear. <><><><><><><><> Skylar lived her life in fear. Fear of exposure, fear of herself, and fear of her future. As a princess and heir to the kingdom, her future was daunting enough. The fact that she turned into dragon and would be killed if anyone found out made it all the worse. So, Skylar lived in constant conflict with the beast within her, all while training to be queen one day. When a fellow king discovers her secret, she is forced to flee or put her entire family in danger. When she meets Orion, the Alpha of a dragon clan, he helps open up a whole new world to her. So many thoughts were running through my mind as Liam and I stood there, face-to-face, ready to do something that could escalate my like for him or even change his perspective of me in a good or bad way. But, why was I so curious about kissing him? Part of me did want to know what it'd feel like, the other part reminded me that this was my first outside a relationship, and we couldn't count his. He sure was really experienced. In the midst of my thoughts, I felt Liam soft hand caress my cheek. My heart pounded in my chest, as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. His eyes were burning into mine, and I felt his hands travel down my back and around my waist. I felt breathless already. He gently pulled me in close to him, so close that I could feel his heart-beat against mine. An audible gulp escaped me, making him smile. A real one. I could feel the warmth in his voice as he whispered " Don't be scared, I'm not that horrible. " At that moment, I just trusted him. I nodded my head, as he tilted his and slowly leaned in. A wave of heat flooded my entire body as Liam drew me closer and closer, firmly sealing the gap between us. Oh God. This is it. Skylar tries to make the best out of the fact that she was getting married in a year to a perfect stranger, but he's antipathetic, reluctant-the list goes on, and she gets broken countless times.Complete
