In which a girl rules a school, and a boy kicks her down a notch.

Jade's only focus in life is ballet. All she wants is to get into the New York City Ballet and be absolutely perfect, graduating Julliard with top marks.
As the first Junior to ever be head of a sorority, she takes control very seriously. With the whole school in the palm of her hand, she does what she wants when she wants. But that doesn't mean she's a bad girl. Not a good girl either.
Manipulator, pathological liar, bitch, are some words I'd use to describe her.
And she wants all the power she can get, so no one can get in the way of her and her goals.

Enter Lucas; egotistical, narcissistic, sex addict. New kid in school, somehow already making himself the top dog. With secrets, no one can find out about.

The attraction is undeniable, but situations have never called for a better hateship.

"'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately. Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me. 'That was awkward.'" ~~~ Junior year is starting off chaotic for Mackenzie Brooks as she steps into her role as the editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper. She's smart, focused on school, the paper, and her TA responsibilities. Junior year should be starting off easy for Dane Sawyer. He's the star pitcher of the baseball team; attractive, athletic, desirable, with a hot girlfriend. Unfortunately, he's also failing computer science which is the one thing he sees that is in the way of his pro career. Different in more ways that one, when the two run into each other in the library, it's an immediate disaster. But when Dane convinces Mackenzie to be his tutor, both of their lives begin to change.

"What do you call a fish wearing a bowtie?" Instantly, Sawyer frowns, an unimpressed expression on his face. I continue to smile at him, urging him to ask as I grab his shoulders and shake him, "C'mon, Sawyer, you gotta ask!! What do you call a fish wearing a bowtie??" He shakes his head, turning away from me as he presses his tongue to inside of his mouth. Flatly, he states, rubbing his face, "We're not doing this shit, Mari." "Yes we are!!!" I snort loudly as he scowls at me. Poking his shoulder, I ask, "You ready?!!" "No." "I'm gonna say it." "No, you're not-" "SoFISHticated." "You're a fucking idiot." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Lengthy Chapters!!* Marianne Parker and Sawyer Cortez are complete opposites of each other. Marianne believes in finding the good in everything around her. Always smiling, laughing, kind to everyone, and definitely an optimist. With a bubbly attitude and an outgoing personality, she's always looking to make a new friend, and all around a ray of sunshine. Sawyer, on the other hand, is blunt, rude, and pessimistic. He doesn't believe there could be good in everything. He doesn't smile, doesn't laugh, isn't interested in making new friends or socializing. Hell, he BARELY tolerates his own friends. The total definition of a raincloud. But, when Sawyer meets Marianne, it becomes all too clear that there's something about her he can't ignore. From the way she walks, talks, laughs, and smiles. It's all distracting to him, and he doesn't like that. In his efforts, he tries to ignore it and avoid her. But that can be hard when the girl in question, AKA Marianne, is EQUALLY interested in him too. Started August 2023 - ????
