[18+; Use an age indicator in YOUR BIO to confirm you're 18+ if you want to follow/comment or you'll be blocked for safety purposes] Leila may be a rather intelligent weapons expert working for a top-secret government facility, but she will often say how she is equal parts stupid and smart. Smart? She lost her arm and built a new one from scratch. Stupid? The damned thing could have killed her the moment she put it on. But, hey, gotta risk it to get the biscuit, right? NUMB
I have been Numb my entire life... Elyse has lived in the Compound, a facility that houses children deemed Numb, almost her entire life and it's been mostly uneventful. But lately something is starting to cause her peers to become unstable, violent and even die at an alarming rate. When her best friend falls victim to what can only be described as a viral outbreak, Elyse decides to work together with a group of her fellow Numb to figure out why this is happening to them. They can't do it alone though, with the Numb being monitored closely 24/7 and having no access to the outside world, but there's a light in the dark for them in the form of a Warden named Jet who is sympathetic to what is happening in the Compound. Will they be able to find the reason behind the outbreak in time to stop it from spreading throughout the entire Compound or will the task prove to be something that is just out of their reach? {A/N: This is the 3rd draft of this story. It's MOSTLY unedited so there's bound to be spelling, grammar and continuity errors. If you catch anything that seems off, feel free to leave a comment!}Complete

However, her peaceful existence is shattered when she begins to notice a disturbing pattern: reports of missing people and strange animal behavior in her community. As she investigates, Cassie discovers the sinister influence of The Nexus, a rogue human organization that has harnessed Yeerk-inspired mind manipulation to control society and exploit vulnerable individuals. Driven by a haunting connection to her past, particularly memories of her friend Tom's struggles, Cassie takes it upon herself to train a new generation of morphers. Enter five diverse teenagers, each with their own challenges and dreams. As they grapple with their newfound abilities, they must also confront the dark machinations of The Nexus. Together, they learn the importance of teamwork, friendship, and responsibility while navigating the complexities of adolescence in a world that is as dangerous as it is wondrous.
