Felix is sprinting down the road on a bicycle, soaked from head to toe, but too scared to stop now. After claiming he saw a mysterious entity, he couldn't stay home anymore. The first thing he felt was needed is to run away, it doesn't matter where. That's how he ended up meeting Dimitri, the unfortunate boy that was working the night shift at the gas station. He was expecting everything but a Shadow appearing in front of him while Felix is clinging to his arm in horror. After all the years Felix had to endure, feeling alone and not trusted, finally there was someone who believed him. Someone else who could also see The Shadow. Without wanting to, now they're stuck together trying to figure out what that entity wants from them, and more importantly, if they're going to live through all of this.

Disclaimer: This is a sequel to my first book called: There's something odd about him. I highly recommend reading that first. Otherwise you might get confused about the context since the characters already have a past. I know I ended the last book with a 15 years later part, but this story is taking place before that. About 5 years after the main events of the book. James is falling deeper and deeper into madness, not knowing if the boy he loves is okay or not. Alive or not. It's been two month since Adam went missing and the blonde is worried sick, until suddenly weird dreams appear when he sleeps. Things take an even bigger turn when he suddenly gets an unexpected, yet not unappreciated call from the local police.

This story is for introverts. If your life is rosy and optimistic, you should leave; you won't be able to handle it. Eliz struggles with anxiety and feels disconnected from others. Consequently, she imagines a fantasy world that parallels her own, where she has everything she cannot attain in real life. Her lack of experience is leaving her with doubts about neurodiversity, depression, her sexuality, and the loneliness that comes from her introversion. She struggles to find the strength to face a world where people do not see her as human and project their insecurities onto her, clinging to her "antidotes" as she calls them: a furbaby named Sky, music, chocolate, and Netflix. Without a support system around her, she uses all the stories she sees on the screens as a compass in her life and hopes to get the same result. Because if it works on TV, why not for her? She expresses what she can't convey through words in her mind by using analogies of TV characters or songs. Eliz ponders whether there's a place for her, viewing life through the lens of a mother who had to raise her alone and a sister who resembles a model from a magazine. A friend who is more of a friend when both are doing badly and a job she got because of dropping out of college. Add being monosyllabic, withdrawn, and a boss she doesn't know how to talk to because she "thinks" she's interested in him, but what does she do with that? Come in and look at the mess in her head, hidden behind a desk answering phones. Eliz is repetitive and full of insecurities. This book was started by a seventeen-year-old guy, who found peace in writing books, and rage in the same time, writing this story until now did give him tears he didn't want, memories he wanted to forget, and feelings he wanted them to disappear. This book is a deep dive in, what will maybe be, the spiral of an endless madness, or, the story of a successful guy, that struggled for his success. It may look like a final clue to a disappearing case, or a suicide note at best, just enjoy these pages, because this may last a few months, a few years, or never, ha-ha.
