The Mark

In a place with a very religious, yet corrupt Empire; we meet a boy who lives in a village on the outskirts of the land. He is to be 14 very soon. Due to the harsh livings and rough environment, the boy grew up with training in combat and also did well as an archer. Though no one knows of his training except for his uncle so far. The boy has no status in the land, mainly due to his age, and keeps to himself. A war is believed to be coming. He has no clue about the prophecy however. It states that one day a boy will rise, along with a few others, to defeat a corruption in the land. These few were all gifted at birth, though they do not know of their capabilities. These few also a special Mark that proves the prophecy is about them. The prophecy document is found by one of the corrupt rulers men and he decides to go along with a few of the solider, checking every village for these gifted kids with the Mark.
