Feliciano Vargas, middle child of 3 princes, heir to the throne of The New Roman Empire, gets himself abducted. The king begins to go senile, acussing his subjects of kidnapping his grandson. Lovino, the oldest, notices this and takes matters into his own hands. he forms his own gang in search of finding his lost brother; he runs away. The youngest child, Romeo-Sebastiano has now the responsibility of being the spokesman and main face of rule for his dear old grandfather.

Meanwhile, we have Gilbert and Ludwig Beilschmidt; orphans who live on the streets of post apocalyptic NRE. Gilbert was one of the youngest children of the Beilschmidt family, therefore he was one of the last being sent to be executed by the king, at the age of 9, Gilbert escaped from an unfair death penalty, with his youngest brother Ludwig, (2 yrs). Now, (Gilbert 23,) (Ludwig 16) have been living as wanted outlaws because of course, they fled from death row. A groundbreaking discovery was made one day that Gilbert and Ludwig actually came from a long line of royalty, that was for some reason being replaced by the Vargas line. They go on an adVEnTuRE to find Feliciano and then overthrow the king Romulus.
