Lillian Chen is a 28 year old criminal lawyer, at her own firm in New York City. A city with one of the highest crime rates and hundreds of lawyers. 4 years ago, a client of hers was sentenced to death by the electric chair which left a scab on her career for a little while. Her client was framed for the murder of 4 women, all of whom he taught in English lessons.

Now in 2017, as she is successful and one of the best lawyers in NYC, until a new issue arose in her old case. A powerful investigator for the District Attorney's office, Josh, comes to her office with alarming news, that could end her career and might as well put her in the same prison her client was in.
