This story is about a girl who has been beat and rape by her brother and more recently she finds herself alone. It's a win win situation. She gets a way from her father who neglects her and her plan/ thought of suicide becomes more clear. Everything starts to become worse. Will, her cousin visiting for the while, Lydia, her best friend, Maddie, her other half, are the only ones who haven't gave up. Then, they try to make her have fun. She ends up screwing up big time. She should have stayed at the party. Instead of it being a simple dream, it turns to be true. When her real friends that's she's been pushing away for some time now, figure what's going on, she finds herself in a life she once knew. Now she has a choice. A right choice and a wrong. This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room.
