After a series of violent storms formed all around the world, lightning struck down and changed everything. People began to mutuate, complete havoc spreading world wide as the effects of the storm came crashing down to reality. Everyone was affected by it, and soon found themselves possessing the ability to yeild and control electricity. Well, all except for one.
Darla Hanson watched her world change through human eyes, remaining completely unaffected by the storm. Unable to conduct and dispurse electricity, Darla is forced into hiding with her friend, for she is a danger to the others and to their world. Confined to the walls of her house, she is secluded from the world around her and it's events.
That is, until her step mother enters her into the most dangerous thing known to all Electrons.
The Volt is a tournament held yearly, used for only one purpose: destruction. Electrons, people who have been mutated by the lightning and storms, have turned into malevolent, power hungry creatures that thrive of the downfall of those around them. The Volt is the place for them to test their power and ultimately become stronger, hosted by the most powerful Electron of all: Cyril Raynor.
Where society runs free and uncontrolled, the vivacious tournament becomes the only thing keeping them sane. That is, until Darla enters it.
The effects of the lightning didn't corrupt her like the others, but Darla is still different. And may be the only thing capable of bringing back humanity amoungst the Electrons. But in order to do so, she must first survive the tournament- and the dark man hosting it.
