Alexis has spent most of her life In Foster Care being bounced from one home to another and scaring off every family that's interested in adopting her with her trouble kid attitude. She is finally sent to live with John Seamus and his wife Cacilla and five other foster kids. Three moths after moving in with them Mrs. Seamus is killed in a bank robbery and John turns to drinking to help with the grief of loosing his wife.

Now a year away from be kicked out of Foster Care her old neighbor Mr. White asks her for help with some chores. Once she's inside his house he prevents her from leaving and then reveals himself to be a wizard and then sends her into the distant future. A pone her arrival she meets a young man named Fang and his family who takes her in and teaches her how to survive in this strange and new world.
