Perhaps it was the fact they were both relatively young teachers that students seemed to always compare, or perhaps it was those mishaps in college in which Mr. Tomlinson had spiked Mr. Styles's drink, leaving him to wake up on the roof of some college frat house. Either way, it was clear to everyone that the two teachers hated each other. Mr. Styles taught English, and Mr. Tomlinson taught Biology. "God save the queen," Mr. Styles sneered in a terrible, mocking British accent. "God bless the land of the free." Mr. Tomlinson would reply in an equally cringe-worthy American accent.
