People are shaped by their environment, their experience. They are either built up or torn down. But when your so torn down its hard to function, so you create a wall. A pretty wall everyone on the outside can see. That's exactly what Imy did. After the traumatizing incident of losing both her siblings and father in a fire she changes. Year after year incidents with fire chase her. She's always forced to relocate after a fire close to her occurs. When she arrives at her new high school she encounters four boys who are willing to dig deeper into her past. They form deep bonds. Only after meeting with an old friend of Imy's do they know where to look. Slowly and painfully Imy finds she isn't exactly human.
