Their backgrounds range from juvenile detention homes, foster care, orphanages, toxic parents, relative guardians, alternative school, homelessness, and gang life. They compete to receive a full pardon, their records expunge, before they turn eighteen. Only one team will win; only four teens will legally redeem themselves. In a beautiful Caribbean rehabilitation center, they will learn to break their bad habits, or continue their adolescent self-destructive crimes into adulthood. The reform school/boot camp/ detention home is in a fictional Atlantic Ocean U.S.A. territory, Costa Puerto; it is made up of a chain of both volcanic islands and also man-made islands. It's not all rivalry. After all, they share a lot more in common than they initially see. They grew up poor. Some recently found out that they were misunderstood due to undiagnosed disabilities. For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel. This was fully uploaded on Wattpad in September 2013 for safekeeping. I hadn't gotten back to it in so many years nor find any means and time to promote it.
