Zephyr has been called a freak all her life. Seeing numbers bobbing above peoples' head wasn't exactly what you'd call normal. It was only after she lied to the psych ward and her own mother that she was able to live the façade of a normal life. Until the boy with the freckles shows up with the biggest number she'd ever seen. Carter claims he's just a kid starting over but something about his story seems fake. Her entire life experience is telling her to stay away, but then why is it that she finds herself tangled up in him at every given moment? Even as they grow closer, doubt shadows Zephyr's every move. What is it that she is really getting herself into? As questions arise about Carter's past and perspectives begin to shift, the truth begins to unfold. It soon becomes clear that the real threat was nothing she'd ever expect.
