Pierce Wilde never wanted to fight. But under the cruel rule of King Gemini, he has no choice. Gemini is a tyrant, a self- proclaimed "king" of the Zodiac faith. In his twisted country, religion isn't a choice, it's a death sentence. If you are not converted to the Zodiac faith, you will die. Pierce Wilde, Raine Quill, and Skylar Quill decide to take on the government- and the Zodiac faith. But their identity must be hidden. So they form the Insurgents, a group of masked vigilantes. Pierce takes on the alter-ego of the Plague Doctor, Skylar takes on the identity of Bella Muerte, and Raine transforms into a figure known as the Longhorn. Together they cause as much mischief as they can, including hacking into the government, crashing a political party, and breaking prisoners out of jail. But Pierce is just a kid. He can't take Gemini down on his own. Unexpected allies are at every turn. Pierce opens the eyes of the residents of Kawkaba, the capital of the Starry Desert, Gemini's territory. They are beginning to see the horrors of their government. Can Pierce unite the divided city into one force of rebels? One thing's for sure- Pierce is a freedom fighter.

This civilization became the heaven for people seeking a stable and peaceful life. The Earth rose and seas parted ways, and the environment had totally changed for its adaptability. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this great technological civilization are all but manaless, arriving in a world where they are seen as inferior and as slaves. How will they react of finding themselves in a world where people can split mountains or bend the fabric of space, and where beings exist that even conventional weapons cannot defeat? And how will the other powers that exist in this world react to a powerful, advanced nation filled with a race they deem inferior?
