This is a short story that takes place in the middle of "Orphan Wolf". It can be read independently but will have spoilers if you intend to read "Orphan Wolf"... I of course would suggest you read it and pause at the point I marked to read "Markie" but the choice is yours. Story excerpt "Come on Ryan leave me alone!" A boy yells. "You started it Francis... come on pup don't start that with me... I don't have time for this! GO HOME!" I felt the command. I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" "The one you want isn't mate. He isn't yours. He isn't interested... I want mate!" "No." I block her out and climb down the tree.Complete

I screamed as he slammed me down to the ground hard and held my neck, he straddled my hips hovering over me and growled in my ear making me whimper. "You are mine do you understand? Mine. And I will have you to myself which means you are going to join me and my pack" he said and I shook my head "j-just reject me and none of this has to happen" I whispered and he growled sliding his other hand down my stomach. "Don't test me mate" he said and I gasped as he grabbed me "you belong to me now so like I said before. Go home and pack your bags" he said and I just shook my head "I don't want to leave my pack-" "To-fucking-bad" he said "I let you go twice. I'm not letting you go again" he growled and I looked up at him nervously shaking my head. "Do as I say or I'll kill your pack. One. By. One" he said putting his lips to my ear "no" I whimpered and he looked at me. "I-I'll do it" I whispered and he nodded letting me go.Complete

I watched as he rubbed the back of his neck and turned around, walking away but stopping after a few steps and he turned around to face me, with a smirk on his lips, "With a face like yours, I wish I was blind." Two Faces, One Wolf....
Life was so simple. So much more carefree and just generally free to do as you please and not have to worry about every little thing. Key word being 'was'. The second you receive your wolf you know your in trouble. It's when the rolling hills and valleys turn into mountains and canyons taunting you to enter. But you can help it cause to get to the other side and pass the finish line you gotta climb those mountains and fall deep into the canyons. But of course teenagers even like obstacles especially when they are still tying to fun themselves. Some may be more outspoken then others and some may be the the tiniest bit too mature but they have to learn one way or another. But what happens when a pack of wolves flirting at first start being the bigger picture and that being this free wasn't going to last forever. Feelings come and go just like people but the day you turn of age that also changes. Mates is a hard word to swallow and acceptance becomes a challenge but not as challenging as sticking together as things are thrown their way, distractions are made and a few too many lies but too deep. Two Faces, One Wolf will be the only clue.Complete
