Not able to handle his father's death, Scott's abandonment, and Lydia ignoring him for Jackson, who comes back from London, he graduates early and leaves Beacon Hills. He got accepted into Northwestern for Criminology and Law. 

Sergeant Platt is Claudia's sister. She decides to take care of Stiles until he graduates. Just when life got easy, it seems to get even harder.
