Triya has complains! For one, she hates being called a Bong (short for the Bengali community in Kolkata, India). To add to her woes, her life in Kolkata is slower than the movement of the ramshackle public buses that lumber around the city. But her father and uncle chose this city to start their new lives, when they left their father's home 28 years ago. The only two people who see eye to eye with her are her cousins, Joy and Risha. 

Life would have slugged in its own uneventful pace, if Triya's father had not received a CD and a letter. A trivial object that sucks Triya and her family back to their roots in the most in incredulous manner possible. For Triya, Risha and Joy, it marks the beginning of an eccentric journey into the past. A journey littered with secrets, that form the crux of the Big Bong theory.
