Katie Noles is 19 years old and living with her mother, Kayla Marshal. During the spring break for college in New York; she is leaving to visit her father, Jacob Noles. Across the country, she finds herself in the small town Tillamook, Oregon; staying in his vacation home. The only thing is, he left when she was eight and now Katie wants nothing to do with him.
During this new and exciting adventure, she meets many new people along the way- - a author she admires, a boy she desires and girls that seem friendly on the surface. Slowly, stress after stress piles onto one another; an assignment that determines the rest of her time as a student, her father and his alcoholism, new drama arising among the people she has become acquainted to.
Ever so slowly, what was once supposed to be a vacation spirals into a chaotic disaster. But chaos always has an end, hers becoming death.
Katie's body is found, floating on the surface of the ocean after being missing for weeks- bloated and cold. Wearing only her tattered painting clothes and her camera not too far away washed up on the sand. Possibly the only evidence they may have to find out....what happened to Katie Noles?
