Yvain, Princess of the Fallen, is the only person who can break the curse of the Fallen. Placed on her ancestors long ago the Fallen are bound to their human form. 

The Pures hunt the Fallen but due to a deal they can only kill a Fallen during their eighteen year and as long as they stay within the city walls they are safe. 
No female Fallen has ever lived past her eighteenth birthday. They are the only ones not safe within the city and the Pures are searching for Yvain.

The only difference is, is that her secret is that she's part dragon. Her sister is supposed to slay anything mystical creature especially dragons but she doesn't know her secret or her best friend's. At least not yet or him hers and you know what's funny? He's got a huge crush on her. She's also adopted so that's why she's a dragon too. Although not American. She wasn't born American anyways. They don't exactly know each other's secret as of right now and so she have no one to help her. Looks like she's on her own she never belonged with humans anyways.
