"Your hair is full of snow," He chuckled as he looked at her, reaching out to push a strand of hair behind her ear. Some snow successfully fell off her, but he didn't withdraw his hand. He cupped her cheek, wiping away a few snowflakes from it. She was frozen, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights, her heart pounding in her chest. Then, raising his other hand, he cupped her cheeks fully. His eyes began to trace every inch of her face; her eyes, her cheeks, her nose, before his gaze dropped to her lips. Her heart skipped a beat as she tried to keep herself together. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seventeen-year-old Valentina Barron doesn't have the most ideal home life. Her family has financial problems, her mother is hospitalized, they had to move to a small apartment from their decent-sized family home... You get the point. She thinks life is unfair and horrible. Due to certain conditions, Valentina gets a scholarship at the most prestigious school in her hometown, but it doesn't make things easier, maybe even the opposite. She has to keep her grades high to satisfy her parents while attempting to scrape some money for breakfast since all of it goes to pay rent and hospital bills. Then one day, she has enough and tries to steal from the school's wealthiest girl, Odette Wraith, to make life simpler. Meet Emma Ellerbee and her best friend Roo Bailey. Together, they share a love of anything chocolate, retro 90's music, and 15-year-old hottie, Nick Rangioni. From tent-hopping on Friday nights (backyard camping parties called "The Tents"), to the annual block party ("Affair on the Square"), neighborhood traditions spark more than bonfires and star-gazing. It's a funny breeding ground for awkward crushes, proving that life doesn't always work out the way we want it to...and that true friendship is often the sweetest gift. ********** From one ridiculously bad decision after another, 14-year-old Emma Ellerbee tries to navigate her hormones, parties, hot neighbors across the street, a pesky 10-year-old, 4 older brothers, and her best friend. Has Emma met her match with the Rangioni crew? Plus, how many cupcakes can one girl eat?? Will Roo eventually forgive Emma for that one little (gigantic) mistake? And can Emma finally forgive herself? ********** [Excerpt from Nick Next Door, Novel is PG rated] [Light & Fun, Easy Read] I'm still fuming when I make it back to my house, but the sight of my mom and Roo baking, and the delicious smell of sugar, instantly lifts my mood. "Ray of Light" by Madonna is streaming in the kitchen. "How did it go?" Roo asks. "Exactly as I expected." "That bad?" "Like if the Titanic was also hit by a meteor." "Want to talk about it?" "Never again." "Thanks, honey," my mom interjects. "For going over there. I really appreciate it - still feel like baking?" "Yeah, I'm in." I grab a whisk and a bowl, along with some eggs. It's time to bake. **********

17-year-old Abigail Wells, known as Abbie, is shipped off to live with her estranged mother. The same woman whom Abbie has not seen since she was about three years old. Abbie's dad, Keith, is not a good guy and hates her passionately. Her home life was not good growing up yet he was the only parent she has ever known. Her only constant. Adeline Cobwell, Abbie's mother, lives in a small town, Reef's Paradise located in Florida. As the name indicates, the town is sort of a paradise for people residing there. Hidden alcove of a town, separated from busy cities surrounding it. The local saying, 'once you are here, you never want to leave,' is something all townsfolk here adhere to. Just like any other small town, Reef's Paradise has its own stories and secrets. Most of such stories are known to all the residents but unknown to the newcomer, Abbie. One such intriguing story is about the Light House, located at the far end of the town on a deserted beach. There is something about the stories, and the Light House itself that attracts Abbie even before she finds out a secret, hiding in it. This is a story about Abbie's journey to self-discovery, to learn what love and care truly mean. Being a teenager is not easy nor is peeling off layers of masks, especially when you have them on for so long. When anger is the only emotion Abbie's known to express for so long things are bound to explode. This is my first story here. Comments and feedback are appreciated. Never Walk Alone

19 parts Complete

Quiet, heartfelt Annalise Bonnadesa is used to being alone and outside all of the time. When she hits age thirteen, she starts feeling different. She doesn't want to be alone all of the time suddenly. The still and relaxing forest outside doesn't seem as comforting anymore. She decides she wants friends. Real ones. The kind of friends who stay that way forever and always; best friends. Ones that do their makeup together, borrow each other's things, and who she can tell everything to. But when the only friend she gets is a fourteen year old boy who willingly hangs out with her, she will just have to learn how to adjust. The story shows a building friendship between this boy and Annalise, and although she can't find a girl best friend to tell everything to, she will find that a guy friend is just as good; if not, better. {Please comment and give me feedback!}
