I wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat and tears falling down my face. I don't even notice Aladdin is there until I hear the sound of glass shattering and then I feel someone's arms wrap around me. I can't see anything because of the tears that are filling my eyes. I can't see who has their arms around me and I was about to freak out and push the person away when I hear his soft, calm voice. "Hey, hey, it's okay. I'm here, and you're safe." I wipe my eyes to see that it is Aladdin. I then wrap my arms around him and bury my face in his shoulder as tears fell down my face. He continues to hold on to me whispering calming things in my ear trying to get me to calm down. "It's okay, it was just a dream." He says as he pulls me into his lap gently and starts rocking back and forth. We stay like that for what seems like forever, but was actually only about ten minutes. I take a few deep breaths calming down. Aladdin pulls away from me just a little bit so he can look at me. "What happened in your dream?" ------ Astrids life has been turned upside down more then once. A child losing her parents and having no where else to go makes someone feel alone and afraid. She went from foster home to foster home for years. Change like that was hard for her as a younger child. Never feeling stable. Never have a set group of friends. Never having a set place to feel safe. Now she has the safe place. That home that she can feel safe in. The feeling of safely only lasts for so long though. After the death of her adopted mother from cancer her life turns upside down once again and she doesn't think she can flip it right side up this time. A girl with little to no hope might want to end it until she finds that special someone who can give her the hope she needs to make it farther in life. ------ All right reserved.
