Science has finally made a breakthrough: the creation of an adult human "in vitro".  However, the project is terminated prematurely by its leaders, it's final product--the first and last of its kind--hidden from the rest of the world. 

The product, Adam, has lived a life apart from his origins but is summoned back to the land of his birth to irrevocably end another research--one that seeks to use pilfered research data to replicate the same that had created him: a metahuman.
