Harapan secara harfiah berarti suatu keinginan yang ingin dicapai. Harapan erat kaitannya dengan bergerak maju dan bertentangan dengan kata 'menyerah' atau segala sesuatu yang memiliki definisi 'mundur'.
Namun di hadapan realita, harapan pun memiliki variabel. Ada dua jenis variabel utama dari harapan yang menentukan langkah yang akan kita ambil selanjutnya. Pertama, jenis harapan yang layak untuk diperjuangkan hingga tercapai. Kedua, jenis harapan yang membodohi diri kita sendiri hingga berpikir untuk tetap maju, di saat kita seharusnya mundur dan tidak layak untuk diperjuangkan.
Baik Keira dan Raian tidak tahu jenis harapan apa yang sedang mereka genggam saat ini, dan kapan waktu yang tepat untuk melepaskannya. Apakah mereka harus mundur agar bisa maju, atau tetap maju untuk berjalan mundur.
Karena bagi keduanya, tidak ada kata 'menyerah' dalam kamus mereka.
