- I push the twigs away from my face and keep running, my breathing hitches and I stumble, hitting something hard, but that's the least of my worries. I scratch at the leaves, pushing myself forwards and away from the creature behind me. I roll onto my back and look into the face of the open mouthed beast that reaches out to grab me with its claws.
I can't escape this... I'm going to die.-
*Lexa Walts has been alone, fending for herself since it all started, since the outbreak. Her parents were killed within the first month and she had to run for her survival. Just a 17 year old girl, with no family, no alliances, just trying to survive. 10 months, she has been running from this apocalypse, 10 months she has been searching for a non-existent safe haven. No relatives, no friends, no food, no supplies, using rain drops for water and it hasn't rained for 3 days.*

From this. I remember I just woke up one day, and went to work as usual. I drove my squad car around town on patrol, but I saw bodies. Bodies everywhere. They were dead bodies, but they weren't still on the ground. They were walking around. As if they had re-animated. The tall, skinny man and young boy with a sheriff's hat, stood in the prison yard staring right back at me; bloody and wounded, basket full of formula in hand, the obvious look of exhaustion washed over me. The dead slowly turns their head and stares at me, smelling the fresh blood on my hand. I backed myself away, pulling out my knife. I found myself jabbing the walker in the head. Two more follow after me and the rest turn to the attention. I huffed out a breath, trying to catch it. My body grows too weak to keep myself standing, my vision grows blurry. My knees buckle together and I fall to the ground. My eyelids grow too heavy to keep open and I finally pass out. Reece is a lonesome ranger. She travels by foot and all on her own, avoiding any living person.
