The Bicyclist

In a galaxy caught up in violent civil wars and interstellar controversies, Emma Partringe is just a nurse-in-training on a remote Uranian colony, trying to pay rent and find a relationship worth pursuing. But her life changes drastically when she starts seeing strange doors standing by themselves in the street, and a group of mysterious cultists appear in her living room, shoot her in the chest, and kidnap her twin sister, Beth. She's rescued by agents of an omnipresent police organization known as the AENHHF, and made an offer she can't refuse: the cultists are looking for something, and if Emma can help them find it first, they'll do everything in their power to help her retrieve her sister. Soon, she's on a whirlwind interstellar adventure to track down a long-lost alien world, accompanied by two loyal sibling agents, a fierce and by-the-book commander, a kindly mechanic, and a cynical ex-soldier. But not only are they being pursued by a ruthless alien bounty hunter and skirting the suspicion of a traitor in their midst, it also seems that they're not being told the whole story. Because the fate of the multiverse itself rests in their hands, and they haven't the faintest idea how to save it. But they'll figure it out. Probably.
