I'm not sure where this short story may take you, him, her or me for that matter. What I'm sure of is that maybe I can find myself along the way and learn to love again. I hope you won't become impatient of me not knowing where I'm going. I've come a long way, too far to turn back now so all I have to do is keep going. Going until I find that two way county road. The road that will take me Home.

Erkenci Kuş: Broken Promises
Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin. When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam. I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go. I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story. Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times. There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened. Enjoy!Complete

I was waiting for my dad when my life changed. Not in any way like a fairy tale with magic wands or going through a rabbit hole like kids in the books do. More like I found it and wished my father came back to clean up his own problem instead of risking my life for this. I can only hope that I will make it out alive.
