Four souls, each an orphan in their own right, find themselves pulled into a vile plot that could tear their lives, and the new alliance between the five great races, apart. This is a story of Mara.
Siblings Vinn and Alysis journey to their new home after the passing of their mother. Vinn must adjust to no longer living on his island home, while Alysis stuggles what to do with her hidden gift. But first they must survive the voyage there. 
In the seedy alleys of Five Points, Duncan tries to find a quiet life among the other hobbits, dwarfs and humans working hard at the docks. Sadly the dark life he had been running from finds him first. 
Following the money as a hunter, Gabriel Fors leaves his home lands of the snowy south. Word of his talent spreads fast and reaches the ears of people who are all to willing to black mail him into their services.
Vinn, Alysis, Duncan, and Gabriel find themselves between the Dawn's Executioners and their goal to rid the world of those of whom can use magic.  Their chosen method, the Star-Caller. But they are not the only shadowy force at work. There are those in the Penta-Alliance who also know of this Star-Caller and wish to sieze its power as well. Join the characters as they all Hunt for the Star-Caller.
