I quickly sit up and tried to get my phone back. "Drake Richards is your brother?!" He exclaimed, surprised. I sighed. No point on hiding it now. "Tell no one." I stated firmly, threatening him. He nodded. "No difference." He shrugs and went back to work on the project. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clara has had enough of people. All her walls have built up, giving no space for anyone to enter. It's because one way or another, everyone leaves, one after the other. She's afraid of commitment and the only way to protect herself is by blocking everyone out. Sarcastic is how she does it and you can know she's lost. Just a lost human being in this big world. But she's not forever lost. Everything starts to make sense when a certain someone entered her non-existent life. It began with a simple gesture in class that just managed to tick her off. Nothing she expected and beyond what she has ever thought about. It's the walk down the cold street. And more to it, she's blinded by the coldness. P.S: Editing will be done after the story is finished.

Today is my wedding, and like any other girl, I want to be happy and marry the person I love, but why am I acting as a stand-in bride in front of my friend's fianceé? Because I look exactly like her, even her family and fiance are unaware that I have been living with him for the past two months. Everything is going well, and she will return just before the wedding, but a week before that, I lost contact with her. I did everything I could to find out where she was, but to no avail. Ultimately, I fled this marriage, but now I am standing at the altar to perform all the wedding rites in her honor. My wedding is today, but it has always been a business deal for me because, to me, love is just a word with no meaning, and marriage is just a way to get my grandfather's shares in my company. Nevertheless, here I am, standing happily in front of my would-be wife, whom I once detested. I do not think I can love anyone in this life, but after getting to know her for a month, I have come to terms with her presence, and I am looking forward to spending time with her. She is a light in my dark world, and I want to hold her in my hands firmly without tainting her pure soul. A crucial question is how Sofie got into this predicament; was this her friend's plan all along, or is she the victim as well? What will happen to their fictitious marriage when the devil softens toward her and all the truth comes to light? To learn all the answers, read this book about Aaron and Sofia, who are battling their own demons. I created it myself, and it is wholly based on my imagination. Since English is not my first language and this is my first attempt at writing a novel, I apologize for any grammatical errors; I welcome constructive criticism, so please stay tuned and let me know what you think to help me improve. I appreciate you taking the time to read my book in advance. Cover page credit: Canvas
