Calypso spent most of her life by herself. Be it social gatherings, concerts, cinemas-she was always alone. Ever since her beloved father was arrested for an unknown reason, leaving her in the custody of her adoptive parents, she didn't find any reason to trust anyone. Anyone aside from Leo Valdez, that is.
Leo and Calypso had been friends since they were in their diapers, always there for each others' backs, through the good and the bad, through thick and thin. They were basically inseparable, until Leo left without a trace one night after his mother's death.
Calypso then is left to fend for herself, against the harsh laws of reality. With no one to turn to, Calypso confides in her journal, which she affectionately refers to "Leo" and writes about her day to day life, as a coping mechanism for her loneliness after her only friend's disappearance.
❝I've been falling every day
since I first met you.❞
