Henry Wright receives a distressing series of letters from his cousin, Clara Marie, who lives in Paris. She is being hunted by a "killer of killers" known famously as The Guillotine Man. Her letters describe in horrific detail how she attempts to evade her pursuer. As he reads, however, he discovers that there is no escaping the judgment of the guillotine.
