After life comes AfterLife™.

AfterLife has been a flourishing enterprise for a while now; discovered and conquered years ago, the safely maintained space in the ether is for souls to congregate once their fleshy bodies have expired. It's really quite brilliant. A world of its own, unaffected by the land of the living but still easily accessible if you take a walk into oncoming traffic. Afterlife is by the people, for the people.

And Death is pretty pissed about it.

Out of a job and invisible to those who no longer accept their passing as final, Death rolls between bars and wills himself drunk enough to forget the fact he's now a waste of space. Shame he doesn't have a body to absorb the alcohol. That's the thing with being an entity isn't it? Just don't try and tell him that.

Cue Steven. A thirty year old man reasonably well acquainted with Death. So he can see him just fine. And now he's calling in a favour.

Stuck with eachother in the beyond, they make a plan and a deal: Death helps Steven find his friend who came to Afterlife in search of The Last Exit, and Steven helps Death get his job back.

Grim Reaper's Handmaiden [Grim Books:1] by Kuppuruchi
70 parts Complete
As a human, I've always wondered what's life after death. It's always there at the back of my mind. Will I ascend to heaven or will I get burnt in hell? I'm so immersed on the thought of it that I've never once questioned if angels or demons even exist. But even if I did, I won't have an absolute answer either way. The world we live in has so much more to it than what meets the eye. They're everywhere watching our every move, waiting for our last breath. And when our time comes he'll be there gladly to take us away. -- A/N: Regular release schedule: Once a week (Due to circumstances, I will be indefinitely updating. Death's Apprentice

37 parts Complete

*Completed* He wasn't an angel, he wasn't a saint, so why was he standing in front of Ardia, and why did he know her name? Ardia was a normal girl, living life as any seventeen year old would, until she died. Wandering through the streets of the city she once called home, someone starts following her. The mysterious stranger, a man known as Death, makes her an offer she can't turn down, quite literally. Forced to become Death's Apprentice, Ardia finds herself trapped in a world of angels, demons, and everything in between. Things aren't bad, they aren't great either, until she discovers that being part of Death's realm comes with a whole slew of problems: the devil breaking in, grudges between Death and the archangels, the possibility of platypus sitting, and, of course, reaping the souls of her fellow mortals. Something complicated further when Death's scythe is stolen. Highest ranking: #1 in angels and demons Word count: 80,000
