The Willow Tree

Two stories about a young girl who's sick and dying and another woman who faces deaths of many around her and compares them to the leaves of a willow tree. The stories are intertwined together and are narrated by a doctor, named John Walsh, who knows both of them. All three character face difficulties, some fatal, some heartbreaking, and John Walsh records all that happens.
