After a unfortunate happening occurs during what is probably a useless search in the first place Lance finds himself stranded on a planet from which he doesn't know if he will ever be able to return. At first glance it seems like his own but the surrounding solar system is wrong and there are a few differences with the planet too. Namely infuriating beings above that like to screw with human lives.
With a new demigod in camp, another unclaimed and over thirteen, the impossible happens. A prophecy is changed. The very engravings in New Rome change, even if they aren't yet aware of it. The prophecy of seven becomes the prophecy of eight.
